Obituary for Patricia Boyer

Daughter, Wife, Mother, Garage Sale Queen, Cowgirl…

Mom was born in San Francisco and raised in Richmond. She and her parents, George and Rosalie Brooks, were a fixture at the local Horse Shows and Rodeos. At nineteen she was a trophy winner at the 1939 Lafayette horse show.

She married Dad in 1946 and together they built our house in Lafayette while raising three kids. She was the classic suburban housewife with all of the usual late fifties/early sixties Mom duties and activities.

When the kids were grown and gone she spent her free time volunteering at two local charities, the Terrace Tea Room/Mt. Diablo Rehabilitation Center in Walnut Creek and the Friends of the Lafayette Library Book Room.

After Dad passed in 1999 she lived the remaining years of her life, on her own in the same house they had built together, volunteering at the book room, reading murder mysteries and doing crossword puzzles. Proudly independent to the end.

She is survived by her daughter Brooks Secola (Joe), son Bradley (Erla) and son Blair (Maggie), grandchildren Tyler Dunivant, Mackenzie Bull, Kasey Wilding and Savanna Boyer-Skuladottir and great granddaughter Elizabeth Dunivant.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel on Friday, November 17 at 10:30am followed by burial at Lafayette Cemetery.
