Obituary for Irene Temnikow

Irene Temnikov passed away after a brief illness on November 25, 2017. Daughter of Leontyi Temnikow and Irene Kwitka. Born in the Czech Republic.

Irene and family finally arrived in America on Thanksgiving Day 1957; Irene was grateful for and loved her life in California and the celebration of Thanksgiving always held a special meaning for her family.

Irene worked at Wells Fargo in San Francisco and enjoyed participating in retirees luncheons to the end of her life.

She was devoted to her friends, many of whom hailed from the San Francisco Russian and Czech communities, she also made numerous friends in Canada through her frequent and extended stays after her son settled there with his family. Irene loved her beautiful garden, was a bridge player extraordinaire until the end; she was a force of nature, energetic, generous, a raconteur and always ready to travel.

She drank sparkling wine every Friday night in memory of her mother, her family will continue the tradition thinking of the ladies.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Irene is survived by her son Nicolas (spouse Marie-Lucie Morin), her brother Simeon, her adoring grandchildren Ariane, Dimitri, Philippe and Julien, nieces Tatiana (Volodya) and Elizabeth (Victor).

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service at Hull's Walnut Creek Chapel on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:30pm.

Irene will be laid to rest at the pioneer Alamo Cemetery, 130 El Portal, Danville, CA.
