Obituary for Dianna Shear

Marlene Dianna Shear passed away Tuesday morning, having fought cancer for almost two years. Known to family and friends as Di, her strong spirit and positive attitude were an inspiration to those who knew her.

Dianna was a San Francisco native, graduated from Balboa High School, and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She worked for many years in the electronics industry, starting on the manufacturing line, working her way up to supervisor and into Production Management. Dianna finished up her career working for PG&E as a Planned Outage Coordinator. She retired from PG&E in 2007 to spend time doing what she loved: working on home improvement projects, gardening in her yard, and in recent years taking care of her great-grandson Elijah.

Dianna is preceded in death by her husband Don Shear, and is survived by her children Trish Drew (Dennis) and John Flanagan (Tina), grandchildren Dan Gareis, Jennifer Drew, and Courtney Calon (Rob), great-grandson Elijah, ex-husband Jim Flanagan and sister Bev Mason (Bob). Dianna loved her family, friends and enjoying Sunday night dinners surrounded by those closest to her.

Friends and family are invited to join a celebration of life at her home on Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Susan G. Komen online at http://www.info-komen.org/goto/diannashear, or by mail at the address on their website.
